The road from Carnarvon Gorge to Springsure
We packed up our camp on Sunday morning. It took us exactly three hours!! I’m sure we’ll get faster at this, with more experience.
We hit the (dirt) road, heading towards Emerald. We pulled over a few times to take some panoramic shots:
We stopped off at the Dakota Crash memorial to a crashed WWII airplane and crew:
There was a lookout at the Staircase Range, so we had to stop for photos, of course. One of the hills was full of cycads:
I’d been to Springsure many times, years ago, so we stopped to photograph the Virgin Rock (Minerva Hills), on the north side of town:
We stayed with my friends in Alpha for a few days, since we were 2/3 of the way there already, at Carnarvon Gorge…
A garden at Eulimbie Station
My Alpha friends have a property at Eulimbie, and the caretakers have created an award-winning garden there. I just had to photograph some of it – so beautiful!
