Today’s pretty much a bludging day. We’ve seen all the sights and are too lazy to do the 2 1/2 hour walk at Red Rock. I don’t want to do any more four wheel driving, since I think that’s why I’m sore all over! We went back to 1770 to Round Hill Head where we tried fishing on our second day here, but had our usual luck, though there were other people trying to fish off the rocks here too. Don’t think they caught anything either. I had a go myself, but after tangling the line and getting the hook snagged on the rocks about four times, I gave up and sat myself down in the shade and listened to audiobooks and watched Donald continue to try. He did manage to catch a couple of Whiting, but they were too small. Bummer.
After Donald gave up, we went back to the apartment and chilled out for a while, until dinner time. We went to one of the snack bars and got fish and chips ($11.90!) to take away and drove back to 1770 to watch (and photograph one last time) the sunset:
The next morning we got our gear together and left by 8:30am. We went back via Bundaberg. We stopped for coffee, which we enjoyed at this big park on the river:
Donald brought home some prawns for dinner and managed to talk his Dad into taking the boat out to go fishing in the morning. He did manage to catch a really big fish – about 2 feet long he reckons, though he didn’t bring it home because he wasn’t sure what it was. So, no fish the whole trip. Most disappointing.
The cat greeted us when we got home in the afternoon, so that was a bonus. We’d been a little worried that he’d run off. But he’s here on my sofa, keeping me company as I catch up my blog. Which is now done!
