Today was another travel day. We went to our usual bar for breakfast and then went back and finished packing and checked out. We headed down to the station and caught an earlier train (and ran into some Aussies we’d met at dinner a couple of days ago) to Levanto. There we had to wait for our connection to Milano. We bought something to eat on the Milano train – that was not a good move. Wasn’t very nice but expensive. We got our connection to Como from Milano and then navigated our way to our accommodation.
We liked the size of the room – it’s actually an apartment. Just, the floors were icky and so was the shower. But oh well…we’ll just have to make sure to wash our feet before we put our shoes on.
The view across to the old church is quite nice and it’s only a few minutes walk from the lake and the center of town.
We ended up walking down the street and getting ourselves some groceries and then going down to the harbour to see what it’s like down there. It was Assumption day, so it was quite busy with the locals out in their Sunday best.
We went in search of dinner and found it not too far from our accommodation. It was really good! I had lamb – I got about 6 really good lamb chops and vegetables. Great value.
Then headed back to our room and had an early night, since we’d had hardly any sleep the night before in Vernazza with the noise of the street and the heat.
