We had a leisurely breakfast and made our way towards the funicular up to Brunate.
We went along a few different streets this time, and they had to be photographed 🙂
Along the way, we walked past the cathedral, which happened to be open. Of course this meant I had to go in. Eileen preferred to stay outside, so I went in alone. It was quite nice with lots of tapestries etc:
While I was at church, Eileen went shopping for sandals and found some she really liked. Now we both have something from the shores of Lake Como!
We headed off to the funicular again and actually made it this time. The trip to the top is not terribly expensive (unlike Switzerland) and it’s nice to walk around up there and enjoy the views. The villa owners up here have the million dollar views, for sure! Some of the villas are just gorgeous themselves, too!
We stopped for lunch and whiled away some time enjoying the views here, too. Then off for more views in the other direction before heading back down:
We went back to our room after loading up with beer and wine and had ourselves a few nice hours to chill before going down to the restaurant we found our first night for some more nice food of generous servings. I even had dessert this time – pistachio and black pepper ice cream. Weird, but nice!
Then back to our room and finished our booze and tried to have an early night (unsuccessfully) for our early start the next morning.
